Off Center -- On Target?

Someone please read this book for me and tell me everything about it?

This book Off Center says it explains how and why asymmetrical polarization--Republicans have polarized more than Dems--without a concomitant, significant shift of the center has been able to bring about new governmental programs, policies, and philosophies that are out of line with moderate expectations or desires.

If their thesis--that moderates aren't really all that happy about the new conservatism, but haven't found a way to express (or have been prevented from expressing) themselves--is correct, that means a lot in terms of what a strongly led group of young, outsider Democrats can do in 2006, especially if Miers gives some far-righters a reason to stay at home (or vote for a third party).

Being in Glasgow, it might be difficult to get a book on American politics without having it shipped over, so I encourage y'all to read it and tell me what you think.
