Weedman for Governor

I got my absentee ballot in the mail today. The race was supposed to be close, and I would prefer Corzine (I guess) over Forrester, so I figured it was my civic duty to vote and shit. Now that Corzine has pulled ahead by a bit, I decided to take a look at the rest of the slate for Governor.

Corzine: Worth $300 million, bought his office, running on a pretty standard moderate Democrat platform.
Forrester: Moderate Republican obsessed with property tax-relief and married to his stupid 30%-in-3 years plan.

Now, here are the good ones, and some choice quotes from their platforms:

Jeff Pawlowski: Libertarian, More guns, gay marriage, legal pot, low taxes, no eminent domain use.

Michael Latigona: Independent "One New Jersey" Party. This man might honestly be retarded. Essentially, he vows to do whatever the majority wants, on any issue.
"Whether or not I personally believe in an specific issue is irrelevant. If I believe that we should have red cars, but 50.1% of New Jerseyans believe there should be blue cars, then I MUST sign legislation supporting blue cars. However, it will also be my job to ensure the constitutional protections of those who wanted the red cars as well."

Constantino Rozzo: Democratic Socialist standard platform. Universal single payer healthcare, public works projects for job opportunities, more progressive income tax, worker's rights, third party politics, and the best part (besides the healthcare bit), state-owned auto insurance company.

Matt Thieke: Green party, boring usual stuff.

Hector Castillo: This independent claims to be the "Education, not Corruption" candidate, placing him in clear opposition to the Corrupt Anti-education candidates. His platform, which is pro-needle exchange and anti-gay marriage, is better described as "cleaner druggies, angry homos."

Angela Lariscy: Socialist Workers - might also be retarded. Point 4 of her 7 point platform? "Quit boycotting Cuba." Wow. Articulate.

Now we're getting to my two favorites.
Edward Forchion aka NJWeedMan: Compares illegalized pot to living under islamofascism, and wants freedom to practice the religion of Rastafari. He's trying to spark a reefer revolution. Sweet.

Wes Bell: Independent, COMPLETELY INSANE. His platform, in a nutshell, is fire hacks, abolish the D.E.P., and don't sell the highways to Chinamen.

  1. does NJ have a very lax standard for getting on the ballot or something?
